(BTW, the reason I dont use key files is that keeping a key file with your KeePass database strikes me as similar to keeping your door key under your door mat. I looked at the alternatives a few years ago & MiniKeePass seemed like the best. Now that MiniKeePass has been deleted from the Apple store (and apparently abandoned by the developer) many including myself are looking for an alternative for iOS. I use MiniKeePass, but I dont use a key file, so I cant help you directly - but the MiniKeePass Issues board mentions a problem with this, and possible ways to work around it.
